SUNDAY is the ultimate fish-out-of-water tale. Placing a football club in a small rural town in Denmark at centre stage, the show comedically and lovingly exhibits cultural differences with a tongue-in-cheek approach.

In the first season the football club FC Fredericia is in crisis and facing relegation from the 1st Division. Head coach Frederik therefore travels to Kenya in a desperate attempt to find a new star player. There, he meets the gullible Sunday, whom he offers a contract — even though Sunday has never played football.
